Seriously, if we could crown a King of Nerds, I would totally give it to Joss Whedon.  Love, love, love this guy!  Crazy talent and a wicked sharp imagination!  And you know what makes me love him even more?  This little tidbit from his Wikipedia entry:
Whedon identifies himself as a feminist, and feminist themes are common in his work. For his part, Whedon credits his mother, Lee Stearns, as the inspiration for his feminist worldview. When Roseanne Barr asked him how he could write so well for women, he replied, "If you met my mom, you wouldn't ask."
Awesome!!
ps:  and did you know he was a co-writer on Toy Story?  Ha ha!

I'm not familiar with him, going to go check him out!
OMG I worship Joss! Every day I thank him for bringing us Buffy, Firefly, Angel!

I had no idea he was co-writer on Toy Story. One more reason to love him!
Have you seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? Delicious. I love Neil Patrick Harris and super-love Joss Whedon!
I think it's really horrible that they're making a Buffy movie without him. True, it wasn't his franchise originally, but he made the TV show what it was.

I love Firefly and Dr Horrible, too.

I went to see the Twitchhiker talk about his book and the last slide in his deck was the Mutant Enemy logo. I laughed out loud.
Grrr...Arg

But he was the original writer of the movie, with sole credit. He blames the director and Donald Sutherland for making the movie what it was. It's just wrong he's not involved in a reboot. Or that they are even attempting a reboot.

Dr. Horrible is awesome and available on Netflix Streaming if you haven't seen it yet.
