Is your SO a geek or a nerd like you? Or do opposites attract?

Is your significant other a variation upon the 'nerd' theme? Or completely the opposite spectrum? If you have kids, which parent do they take after?

My SO and both kids are gamers. He loves his Black Ops and PS3, so do my kiddos - my son (PS3) and daughter (Wii). They love sic-fi like Star Trek, but the guys love it for special effects more than a anything, but that's about the only sci-fi stuff.
My SO is creating a computer animated monster right now on his Mac if that tells you anything. :)

Both kids are headed to nerdom, too.
My hubbyis not a nerd like me. He tolerates my vamp obsession and sometimes likes some Sci-Fi. I am also a horror movie nut but that's where he draws the line. But we work it out. If movies are action sci-fi or things like avatar he'll watch. Helet me watch 12 hours of Buffy yesterday and I love him for that. And when a horror film comes on, I go and watchin the other room. I also rent my horror on Netflix when he is out of town. We work it out. :0)

He does love Star Trek (old & new) and the movies. So we are good there.
My SO and kids are gamers. Him just on the PS3, my 9yo son on PS3 and PC, and my 2 girls 4 & 9 on the Wii. We all love games. But that's as "nerdy" as my husband will EVER be. I JUST recently upgraded his FLIP phone to another FLIP with better texting capabilities. Does he TEXT? Uh no...he barely knows how to read and forward them! LOL PC? FORGET it! I even made it "dummy" proof when he wants to look up game stuff and craigslist by using shortcuts in my Firefox tab for him and then he still sometimes ask how to find it again...uh duh...lol

But when it comes to movies, now that's a different story. Sci-Fi, SOME Fantasy, Paranormal, Horror, Torture, he's game!
Oh gosh, my partner is absolutely a nerd.

WoW & other gaming for sure, tech junkie, total movie nerd like me... we make a ridiculous pair of geeks <3 And our daughter is well on her way to nerdom.

(For her first Halloween she was Chewbacca... this year? Yoda.)
Oh...he's a Star Trek lovin', card game collecting, mega-dork...and I love him!
Yes my SO is also a nerd but in different ways... he's not as into gaming as I am.. but he's a complete movie buff... knows rediculous stats.. spends hours on end researching random topics... and knows a lot about technology.

Hubs is a sports nut jock but he does love Vampire stuff as much as I do and he is totally into sci-fi. So we're alike in the good ways, lol
Mainly Star Trek, but he's also got Highlander, Buffy...and many more... He's afraid to start Magic cause he'd put us in the poorhouse! LOL

Haha, my partner has said something similar about Warhammer, Magic & the WoW card game. He's a "go big or go home" kinda guy & I know it'd get a little overboard!
